Is there a basic training mode I'm not aware of?

4th choice to the right, then pick the top choice. Although, it's more of a vs. CPU match than an actual Training mode.

Thanks for the mini-game help. I finally got 5th Luna after a major hassle. I've lost track how many times I've beaten the match, only to fail afterwards. Overall, 5th Luna is like Destroy Stellar, except she's always in that huge state. The only detail I should add is that no matter what, 5th Luna's MAX Attack cannot be canceled, not to mention it's like having 3 Lunas using their D move across the screen while you're free to beat the crap out of your opponent. It's a good thing that the route was much shorter than the regular route because getting her is a pain in the ass.

What? You can't be tired, you can sleep in the grave.

Version 2.9 is out. Nanai finally becomes playable (and appears in the loading screen with Kira), and brings Bernie and Sven along for the ride.

Bernie: A tad difficult to work with. He's got a standard Zaku heat hawk, but it takes a moment to execute. His "D" moves involve either Al paralyzing Bernie with a yell, Al paralyzing the opponent with a crying fit, or Chris smacking Bernie into the opponent with a baseball bat. His MAX attack is....odd, summoning gas canisters and an inflatable Santa Claus. Granted, it has been a while since I've seen 0080....so it might be something from the OVA.

Sven: Decent. He's got the "Shorty" beam rifles (though you have to press "S" twice for both to fire) for a basic special. His ground "D" move borrows directly from Stargazer with Sven grabbing two Stellars with his rocket anchors and flinging them at the opponent; however, the opponent MUST be at the exact end of the throw for the attack to do any damage. His aerial "D" move has him throwing one of his swords into the ground (at the cost of 10% of his MAX meter), and it stays there for a while, setting up the chance for some good combos. Sven's MAX move has him grabbing two HEUG swords and swinging them at the opponent. Also, this is the only move where Sven has any dialogue period, unlike the rest of the roster which have plenty of dialogue throughout their moves.

Nanai seems to be the same as in the CCA quest, at least from what I can tell from facing her in the Survival mode.

Gundam Fighters ver. 3.0: "Men of Destiny"

Yes, 0083 finally gets added, in the forms of Kou, Gato and surprisingly, Kelly.

Kou: Interesting. His "S" attack is literally a hold-and-charge dash based on the first part the "The Winner" (complete with the date scrolling). He also has a counter move, and his aerial "D" move is.....Kou throwing a large carrot at the opponent in disgust. His MAX move is what makes him interesting. Normally, he'll just hop on the GP-03 and gain new attacks (like Kamille does). If his HP is low, he goes Super Saiyan (No seriously, I SHIT YOU NOT), Gato and Nina appear, and then he hops on the GP-03. The timer for this mode is based on the attacks. Abuse them too much, and you'll power down quickly.

Gato: Not bad. He's got his beam saber (hold the button for a larger beam and damage), a shield charge, Neue Ziel's claw, and an bombardment attack for his basic moves. His MAX attack is, of course, "Solomon, I have returned!". Full stop. Not much else here, though. Except that Shinn can defeat him fairly easily.

Kelly: A one-armed Scorpion, minus the "Get over here!" line. He's got Val Varo's arm claw, which functions exactly like Scorpion's harpoon. His ground "D" attack is....odd. I don't know what it does. His aerial "D" move has him dropping something (at the cost of some of your MAX meter) that creates an electrical surge. His MAX move has Kelly dropping several of these junk items and creating a small-scale electrical MAPW. It's probably something from the show I don't remember, so....just roll with it.

Version 3.1 is out....and it's a little underwhelming. New fighters are Crot and Shani, who both have a critical flaw that makes them pointless additions. And it's the same flaw.

Crot: Ugh. His "S" attack is Raider's Mjolnir hammer. The aerial version is a straight line and launched immediately. The ground one takes a moment to execute, and can be aimed somewhat. His "D" attack is Raider's arm machine-gun. MAX Attack has him spinning the hammer around in front of him (he can move around the field while he's doing this), and finishing it off with Raider's mouth cannon. It sounds better than it looks, unfortunately.

Shani: Total. Waste. He's got Forbidden's quirky curving beams (one normally, two with his MAX Attack) and those shield beam deflectors, and Nidhoggr for attacks. His MAX Attack adds the protection of the deflectors for a limited amount of time. That's it. Total. Waste.

Oh, the flaw Crot and Shani share? This was probably done as a gag, but every once in a while, their attacks will fail and they will become paralyzed and can't DO ANYTHING, EVEN SHIELD THEMSELVES. It happens more to Shani than Crot, so be warned. But seriously, that was UNNECESSARY to add in. Give us a different attack or something else, for crying out loud. If everyone had this trait, I wouldn't complain, but that's not the case.

I personally tried out Shani and Clotho and based on the playthrough, Clotho's a hell lot more useful than Shani. Honestly, if Shani's beams didn't randomly bend or at least bent on command, he would be a good long-range character, but as it is, he's not. Clotho, on the other hand, has it pretty good with that Mjolnir Hammer and his MAX Attack. Of course, the random freeze affects him big time...

Version 3.2 is out. Orga and SEED Yzak are the newcomers.

Orga: A massive improvement over Shani and Crot, as his "frozen" mode happens a lot less than the other two Druggies. He has no aerial attacks, so...like Calamity, he's a ground-based bombardment fighter. Between the Toadsblock shield cannons and Calamity's bazooka, those are pretty solid specials. His "D" special is interesting; you have to hold down "D" in order to have it fire horizontally, otherwise it will shoot skyward. YMMV, but this is kinda neat seeing as Destiny Dearka is the only other fighter with a direct skyward attack (Lockon's grenades don't count as they lob, in my book at least). His MAX attack is basically a "fire all my weapons except the chest blaster" attack.

SEED Yzak: Interesting in that he's not just a remodeled version of Destiny Yzak. His "S" attack is Duel's beam rifle, which hits more like a shotgun because it seems to do more damage when you are closer to the opponent than far away. His aerial "D" is lifted from Destiny Yzak, but the ground version is a little different. Yzak charges up (with a red aura around him), then lunges at the opponent with Duel's beam saber. His MAX attack is lifted faithfully from episode 49 of SEED when Yzak kills Shani (with Shani even appearing in the attack). Cagalli doesn't show up, though.

My only complaint is that the creator needs to move beyond the CE and AD eras like three versions ago. I mean, the game is called Gundam Fighters and nobody from G is in yet? WTF?

I agree. Actually, I was surprised with Orga, since he did not freeze once during training. It makes me wonder whether or not he even freezes. His Bazooka is quite quick, despite being a charged version of S, while a simple press is a quick shot from his shield. As for Yzak, his scarred version is an alternate play style. His beam rifle is quick and his aerial D is nice, although it requires some recovery. However, his ground D requires a bit of charge to work. On the other hand, since his MAX attack starts with Yzak being hit by Shani, his MAX Attack cannot be canceled by normal attacks. Anyone with a MAX Attack that cannot be canceled, such as 5th Luna and CCA Char, is useful in my book.

I agree. It lacks anything that isn't CE, AD, or UC. AW and FC or even CC should be next. On an unrelated note...

FUCK YEAH!!!

Finally got a rank for A route of Story Mode. For a first time attempt at ranking, 31st place is pretty damn good. To be honest, I had a few retries, though I have a feeling that the retries actually add to your score, mainly my loss at the end against CCA Char. My score was 2,339,686 and the highest score is 3,584,674. It would be tough, but theoretically, the highest score would be achieved by continually losing against Char until it exceeds 3,584,674. Of course, it's best if you beat each mission as fast as possible and without retrying until CCA Char's final fight, not to mention not quitting and coming back to the route.

Version 3.3 is out now. New fighters are Yuna (no, don't laugh) and Murrue.

Yuna: Looks like a joke character, but if manipulated correctly, can be lethal. His only line is his famous "Mai Ani!" line. His basic attack can hit up to five times, meaning you can rack up damage pretty well if you plan your strategy out. Unato is also one of attacks; bascially, Unato shows up with Duo's hat on and paralyzes anyone (including Yuna) within a certain range with his baldness, just like Duo's flare. His other special involves Yuna charging at the opponent; however, sometimes Cagalli appears and beats both Yuna and the opponent up, all of which is topped off with a GOUF Ignited falling to the ground. His MAX attack is very different from everyone else. Yuna's MAX attack triggers the exact moment his MAX meter is completely full. No, really. To make it even more hilarious, Yuna can't do anything except dodge falling GOUFs and the occasional fist or two from the Strike Gundam.

Murrue: Joins Setsuna, Lacus and Stellar as one of the boss characters under the first battle option. And has Emma for assistance, WHO HAS BECOME CHEAP AS FUCKING HELL. Strategy: take out Murrue first. She can dish out the pain (especially with her MAX Attack), but can't take damage quite well. SHAMELESSLY SPAM an attack that's quick and hits a lot, such as Seabrook's beam sabers. After that, Emma becomes easy to take down (as she most likely took damage during your assault on Murrue) due her stupid AI that spams her headbutt and charge ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME.

As for Murrue, I have to say that the creator is a bit of a fan of Murrue, because she is the only female character with a...."dynamic chest" (sprite-wise), but her attacks also seriously HURT if you don't watch out. Her "Natural Combo" attack has her do her flying kick + pistol shot combo (the last part has a chance of failing, though) from Destiny. Her "D" special is either the Archangel doing a flying dive from above OR a Shoryuken strike from below. Her MAX attack lasts the longest out of those with a timer (it's a full clock, rather than 3/4 of a clock). "A" becomes a simple charge, "S" fires the Valients and Gottfrieds, and "D" launches a random character (Kira, Cagalli, Tolle, or Mwu). Mwu has two summons, one offensive and one defensive, by the way. "F" unloads the Lohengrins at the enemy, granted they are in front of the actual launchers.

I haven't really bothered to check much but, new update has Sanders Jr., Karen, Aina, Bernie, Chris, Kou, Monsha, Gato and Kerry.

Achtung: Very long post.

Sanders Jr.
A: Basic two hit combo
S: Picks up some new recruit(dunno who he is, never watched 08th MS Team) and throws at the enemy.
D: Gets an anti-tank rifle and fires a shell that arcs.
D(hold): Gets an anti-tank rifle, aims directly upwards and fires, causing the shell to land directly on wherever the opponent was standing on.
MAX attack: Sanders rubs his chin, then a bunch of missiles come flying at the enemy from all directions.

Karen
A: Basic two hit combo
S: Pulls out a machine gun and fires while yelling. Very annoying because the CPU likes to spam this attack.
D: Summons one of her squadmates, who rides through in a motorcycle while that new recruit is screaming his lungs out in the sidecar.
MAX attack: Picks up a giant beam rifle and fires at the enemy.

Aina
A: Punch
S: Pulls out a badly-made doll(with 'Aina' scribbled on it) and whacks the enemy with it, then disappears. The doll can still do damage while it's disappearing.
S(air): Pulls out a remote control with a rocket launcher attached above it then fires.
D: Hopes onto an Apsalus, which can temporarily be controlled. Time depends on how much gauge Aina has. A sends the Apsalus charging at the enemy, S creates an explosion below the Apsalus, D fires a giant beam.
MAX attack: Aina hops into an Apsalus III and tears the floor with its laser.

Bernie
A: Punch
S: Pulls out a Heat Axe.
D: Summons a woman holding a bat and hits Bernie, launching him towards his opponent.
D(hold): Summons Bernie's little brother, who calls him an idiot, stunning Bernie. This move apparently does nothing helpful as the kid's yell doesn't even affect the opponent.
MAX attack: Summons two inflatable Santa Clauses emitting poison gas. The Santas have a duration shown by the clock gauge. Within this time, you can press the F key again which makes Bernie jump towards the enemy and explode.

Chris
A: Two hit combo
S: Shoots at the enemy with the Alex's arm machine gun.
S(hold): Shoots at the enemy with the Alex's arm machine gun, then aims upwards while firing. Does more damage and causes knockdown.
D: Chris starts carrying a bunch of junk, causing her to wobble, then walk forward, then trips.
D(hold): Same as above, only she wobbles longer, she stays in place and doesn't fall down.
MAX attack: Transforms into a that bat-wielding girl, whacks at the enemy repeatedly, reverts back to normal then finishes with a rising Beam Saber slash.

Kou:
A: Two hit combo
S: Causes Kou to start sprinting(and at the same time, not move) with a timer starting from 0080 appearing. Holding S will cause the timer to slowly increase. If the timer reaches '0083', Kou suddenly sprints at full power at a long distance. Releasing the button anytime before that just causes him to sprint a short distance.
D: Counter attack, where Kou pulls out a beam saber and whacks the enemy with it.
D(air): Throws a giant carrot at the enemy.
MAX attack: Summons the Dendrobium Orchis, which is not only controllable, but you can fly around with it(though you slowly descend). A swings the beam saber, S fires a micro missile pod, which fires micro missiles above and below it, D fires its Mega Beam Cannon. I don't know how but when you activate this attack, there's a possibility for Kou to turn Super Saiyan before riding the Dendrobium Orchis, making it last much longer in the battlefield(the timer gauge loops twice).

Monsha:
A: Kick.
S: Machine gun.
D: A bad looking grab(I think it's supposed to be a bearhug), then slams the guy down.
MAX attack: Pulls out a machine gun, while 2 other squad members come out with jetpacks and fire huge blasts at the enemy.

Gato:
A: Two hit combo
S: Pulls out a beam saber. Holding S down charges the beam saber.
D: Pulls out the Gundam Physalis' shield and charges at the enemy with it.
D(hold): Calls for support fire, where bombs suddenly start raining onto the battlefield. Not only will the bombs hurt Gato too, but they also have a tendency of raining on Gato.
D(air): Shoots out retracting Zaku fists.
MAX attack: Flies up, pulls out Physalis' bazooka and shield then blasts the battlefield with a nearly screen covering blast.

Kerry:
A: Pound that knocks down.
S: Summons a retracting claw diagonally upwards.
D: Kerry takes a defensive posture. During this time, he's immune to any form of attack, even MAX attacks(managed to tank Lunamaria's Excalibur attack).
D(air): Throws a machine that creates a small electrical field. Uses up a little of your MAX gauge.
MAX attack: Throws out 3 machines that create a GIANT electrical field.
